Although a key component of all of the work we do is to honour and remember not only those who have fallen, but also those who are currently serving in Canada's military, we recognize that our youth also play a crucial role in the growth of our communities and in continuing the tradition of Remembrance
As one of our primary goals, fostering Remembrance is a part of everything we do. Thanks to the longstanding tradition of the Annual Literary and Poster Contest, we have been able to involve Canadian school children in helping us to promote not only the National Remembrance Day Service, but also the act of honouring our military heritage.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 129 Haliburton would like to thank the 110 students who participated in this year's Remembrance Day Literary and Poster contests.
I would like to thank the teachers, school administration staff and parents who encouraged their students to make the effort. Your interest and continued support is much needed and very much appreciated.
This year we had entries from all three schools, Stuart Baker ES, JD Hodgson ES and Haliburton Highlands SS.
Without our panel of judges there would be no competition, therefore we wish to thank all our judges for a job well done.
