1129 Hastings & Prince Edward Regiment Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps - Haliburton

The Ultimate Challenge!

The Royal Canadian Army Cadets appeal to teenagers (Ages 12-18) craving exciting outdoor activities where their personal limits as individuals and team-members will be tested. The hard-core outdoor oriented will love the challenge!

Army cadets develop abilities in the use of map and compass, GPS technology, orienteering, first-aid, camping, survival skills, mountain biking, rock climbing, music & marksmanship. As they get more experienced, some cadets will be selected for parachuting & national expedition programs. They will also learn to become outdoor leaders.

Army Cadets get involved in ceremonial military events and citizenship activities that allow them to connect to their Canadian heritage. They develop a great sense of pride and discipline through their involvement in a hierarchical system that allows them to hone their leadership skills as they grow older and they

learn to care for younger cadets.

In addition to their specialty training, Army Cadets may become involved in other exciting activities like competitive marksmanship and biathlon competitions, cultural outings & volunteer community support.

Canada represents the best playground for teenagers interested in the outdoors. We are the organization of choice for teens interested in getting out of the classroom to explore the planet the way it should be.

Haliburton Army Cadets parade every Tuesday evening, following the school calendar year, from 6:30pm to 9:00pm. Cadets is funded by the Federal Government. There is no fee to join.

Haliburton Army Cadets are also supported by our local Legions, Haliburton Resource Centre and the Minden Lions & Lioness Club.

In partnership with Yours Outdoors, Hike Haliburton, Haliburton Pipes & Drums, Camp Medeba, Abbey Gardens, Minden Wild Water Preserve, Milcun Training Centre, Haliburton Nordic Ski Club & Haliburton Mountain Bike Club we are able to deliver a program unique to Haliburton County.
